Radiography

Our board-certified Radiologists evaluate and interpret your radiological images and provide you with a comprehensive written report of their findings, together with suggestions for additional diagnostics, as warranted. 

Each consult includes direct access to the Radiologist via phone or e-mail.  A phone call or email to the radiologist is encouraged if you have any questions. Our radiologists consider themselves a part of your team and are happy to speak with you.  Availability for each radiologist is listed on every report.

Tips for Success:

  • Submit detailed history and specific questions for the radiologist for a more precise report. Quality evaluations and reports come from quality images and history.
  • Turnaround Times for Radiology Consults – available 24/7/365
    • Standard consults are usually completed within 24 hours depending on caseload

Ultrasound

Our board-certified Radiologists evaluate and interpret your images to provide a complete written report with their findings and recommendations.

Each consult includes direct access to the Radiologist via phone or e-mail. Please note: An ultrasound consultation consists of ultrasound images and associated radiographs. A separate radiology consultation is not required.

Tips for Success:

  • Submit quality labeled still images and short DICOM video clips for a faster and more precise report.
  • Please use “Sonographer’s impressions/ comments” to describe your ultrasound findings, this will help us understand your concerns, and provide better patient care.
  • Turnaround Times for Ultrasound Consults – available 24/7/365
    • Standard consults are usually completed within 24 hours depending on caseload
    • NEW! Priority consults are complered within 12 hours
    • STAT consults are completed within 2 hours

CT/MRI

Cardiology/ECG

Our board-certified cardiologists evaluate and interpret your images and/or ECG to provide a complete written report with their findings and recommendations.

Each consult includes direct access to the Cardiologist via phone or e-mail.

Tips for Success:

We offer 3 options for ECG –only consults:

  1. Pre-Op ECG
    1. Lead II only
    2. Report within 30  minutes
    3. Useful as a screening tool before sedation, anesthesia, or as a quick evaluation
  2. Routine ECG
    1. All leads
    2. Written report within 24 hours
    3. Useful for non-critical cases, rechecks
  3. STAT ECG
    1. All leads
    2. Verbal report within 30 minutes, written report within 2 hours
    3. Useful for urgent and critical cases
  • ECG-only consults are available 7am-4pm PST Monday-Friday.
  • A variety of ECG formats are acceptable for consult submission; however, the preferred method is the AIS Bluetooth-ECG system. Please visit https://soundvet.com/ecg-rhythm/ to learn more about the unit and to view ordering information.

Exotics/ Avian

Our board-certified Exotic Animal Specialists evaluate and interpret your images to provide a complete written report with their findings and recommendations.

Each consult includes direct access to the Exotic specialist via phone or e-mail.

Tips for Success:

  • Submit detailed history and specific questions for the Exotic specialist for a more precise report. Quality evaluations come from quality images and history.

Exotic/Avian consults include detailed treatment and management recommendations for the case.
